Our social benchmarks and how we are making a difference
At Nviro, we are committed to creating a positive social impact that makes a difference to the community while helping us reach our sustainability goals.
Our Social initiatives
Social
Our values of Dignity before Profit, Potential to Thrive and Work with Meaning set the scene for everything we do. We want to leave positive ripples and treating people well is the best way to do that.
Diversity and Inclusion
We recognise that for many of our team, English isn’t their first language and so we provide training material and communications in different languages. We celebrate our diversity and encourage our team to share their celebrations. In 2024, we’ll be carrying out a DEI survey and undertaking further work to reduce our gender pay gap.
Economic
We pay Real Living Wage (or London Living Wage) without compromise enabling all our team to earn a decent day’s pay for a fair day’s work. As an accredited RLW provider, all our colleagues are paid RLW and we won’t work with clients where they don’t support that nor will we submit a bid that doesn’t pay RLW. We don’t offer zero-hours contracts as we believe that people need stability.
Learning and Development
Functional skills, vocational qualifications, apprenticeships and less formal learning are part of what’s on offer at Nviro. All our team are encouraged and supported to develop their skillset whether that’s in cleaning or more widely.
Community involvement/ support
We work with job centres and community organisations to get people into fulfilling, long-term work close to where they live. We’re part of the Armed Forces Covenant – Silver and a Disability Confident employer. We support The Rainbow Centre in Hampshire helping to provide movement-based education for children and adults with neurological conditions.
Supporting our diverse colleagues so they can succeed
We are always looking at how we can upskill our people and provide them with the tools and training to succeed. Our near-miss procedure has improved by creating and involving colleagues to help explain the importance of health and safety and how they can help in their spoken language.
